Despite the coronavirus pandemic completely upending they way in which we live, work, and play, the Institute for County Government (ICG) has never wavered in its mission and service to Florida’s counties. During the past several months, I have been incredibly proud to serve as its Chair, watching the organization successfully transition its structure and evolve during this tumultuous time.

As the situation with the coronavirus quickly developed, ICG was also able to transition its educational programming to a virtual format, ensuring that commissioners across the state still have access to the training they need, while also staying on track with graduation milestones. I encourage all commissioners to participate in our Certified County Commissioner (CCC) program and our Leadership Forum.

Additionally, ICG has developed a weekly webinar program, better known as Webinar Wednesday. Weekly presentations have covered a wide range of county issues, including COVID-19 issues, hurricane preparedness, affordable housing, demographics, free-speech and social media, among others. If you have not done so already, I encourage you to join us for our next “Webinar Wednesday.”
