Message from the Chair

Providing a quality education experience is a priority of the Institute for County Government. Our programs are designed to train commissioners and county staff on their duties and responsibilities in a public service role, while encouraging them to be leaders within their communities and the Florida Association of Counties.

For more than 20 years, we have developed coursework that is appropriate for all county commissioners and their staff including the newly elected commissioner and seasoned public servant. Our curriculum focuses on the everything from the fundamentals of rules and regulations for county officials to the ever-evolving challenges of county officials and staff.

We also offer advanced leadership training through our newly created ICG Leadership Forum. This leadership program is held in partnership with the University of Florida and is designed to advance the skills of county officials to enable them to meet the unique challenges of their duties and to enhance their leadership skills and style.
